UPDATE ON COVID-19
HOW ARE THINGS IN NICARAGUA?
As of this date, there are about 1300 reported cases of Coronavirus in Nicaragua. Health officials are taking many precautions to keep it from spreading further. Families in our barrios are mostly unaffected except that the economy is even worse than before. We have quickly responded to the situation by increasing food supplies to families, hand-making facial masks, filling bottles of hand soap, and much more. Be sure to follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube for the latest info.
Through the generous gifts of people just like you, our team continues to serve kids, families, and churches in our communities. Normally, visiting mission teams are leading discipleship classes, VBS for kids, building homes and latrines, providing critical food, drilling water wells, bridges, and sharing the love of Christ. Now, you'll find our team of 51 staff members (central staff, pastors, and sponsorship coordinators) working hard for you!
WHAT CAN YOU DO NOW?
Please join us in praying for those who are impacted by COVID-19. We sincerely desire to see all ministries continue shortly as the people of God care for their communities and share the hope of the Gospel.
Chosen Children Ministries' entire ministry is supported almost exclusively by the $650 land fee paid by each team member. When teams are not coming to serve, we are not able to continue providing food, medical care, education, Biblical discipleship, housing, and much more for children and families in Nicaragua. Now more than ever, THEY DESPERATELY NEED YOUR HELP.
Will you please consider a tax-deductible financial gift to help us continue feeding children, providing medical care, and supporting our local Pastors and churches?
WHAT ABOUT UPCOMING MISSION TRIPS?
Earlier this March, we made the difficult decision to suspend all mission trips through July as a result of travel advisories that were issued by the US State Department. This does not late summer and fall mission trips at this time.
We are continuing to monitor the situation through information provided by the CDC, WHO, and the State Department. As new data arrives, we will continue to update you with a definite step forward.
We continue to prayerfully prepare for a great season of ministry this summer and fall!
